Seasonal Allergies
The Sierra Nevada region is abundant in airborne allergens, which makes seasonal allergies very common in local residents. Symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes and rashes can all be signs of serious seasonal allergies. Throughout the seasons, many plants and environmental agents release pollen and other allergens. During your allergy testing, we will test for over 50 different pollen and environmental allergens to identify the root cause of your allergy symptoms.
Environmental Allergies
Environmental allergies arise when the body’s immune system falsely produces a defensive response to particular substances in your environment. These substances could be things in your everyday life such as pets, mold, dust and fungus. While symptoms can be mild, these allergens can cause year-round symptoms, which may get worse over time.
Food Allergies
The cause of a food allergy is the immune system creating antibodies for the protein in the food and therefore, everytime you ingest that food, it causes an allergic reaction. While some food allergies are less serious, some can be very dangerous. Unfortunately, as we grow older, some foods that used to be safe for us to consume may start to provoke a reaction. While the most common food allergies are nuts, dairy, and fish, there are many others your body may develop. At Reno Regenerative Medicine, we test for the aforementioned foods as well as over 20 others.
Testing
At Reno Regenerative Medicine we start with a full panel skin allergy test to detect the allergens causing your symptoms. This singular test takes about 80 minutes. We provide the results the same day to inform you of the allergies you have. After detection, we will share with you the results and best course of treatment.
